Classroom Courses


Course Title: Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) - Freight National
Accredited By: Oxford Cambridge and RSA Examinations

Benefits: The course is structured to teach candidates the requisite knowledge to pass the examinations set by OCR on behalf of the Department for Transport DfT. Successful completion of the course will enable candidates to be assessed as professionally competent for the purposes of applying for an Standard National ‘O' licence or holding the post of Transport Manager for National Road Haulage operations.

Duration: 7-day intensive course with the examinations held on the 7th day.

Content: The course covers 30 modules under the following general headings:

•  Civil and Commercial Law
•  Social Legislation
•  Health and Safety Law
•  Financial Management
•  Vehicle Maintenance, Specifications and Selection
•  Operator Licensing requirements
•  Drivers Hours and Records
•  Traffic Regulations
•  Accident Procedures
•  Insurance

Examinations: Held quarterly, March, June, September and December each year.

Course Title: ADR Initial – (Transportation Of Hazardous Goods By Road)
Accredited By: City and Guilds, tutored by RMT Consultancy

Benefits: Successful completion of the course enables candidates to undertake the transportation of Hazardous Substances by road.

Duration: 5-day course, 8:00am to 4:00pm each day.

Content: Core, Initial ADR packages, 7 UN classes and Tankers:

•  Core: Regulations, First Aid, Fire Fighting, Clothing and Emergency actions
•  Packages: This covers the carriage of substances carried in any type of packages
•  UN Classes: This covers the understanding of the substances and the effects.
•  Tanker: Covers all types of tanker vehicles to enable the driver to carry substances in road tankers

NB: To obtain an ADR (Hazchem) Certificate enabling you to carry hazardous substances you must attend a training course and must pass the Core, Tanker or Packages and at least 1 UN Class.
